Gakkel presented a project of a diesel-electric locomotive with a Vickers engine with a capacity of 1000 hp. On November 7, 1924, the diesel locomotive, designated Yue-002, made its first trip to Obukhovo station and back. Later the diesel locomotive Yue-002 was given the name Ge-1 (Gakkel system, with an electric transmission), then Shch-EL-1, and later Shchel-1; the letter Ш meant that this diesel locomotive was equal in power to a steam locomotive of the Ш series, and the letters ЭЛ indicated the presence of an electric transmission. From 1925 to 1927, the locomotive was operated on the Moscow-Kursk railway and in the Caucasus. Later, due to frequent repairs, it was removed from train service and from 1934 began to be used as a power plant. Two diesel locomotives can be glued together from one magazine. The model has the first level of difficulty, so even novice modelers can assemble it.
